The Brouns name has been closely associated with glass since 2006, when Michiel Brouns founded Histoglass Ltd. Under his leadership, the company became the market leader in replacement historic glass offering enhanced thermal performance. In 2023, Michiel sold his shareholding in Histoglass Ltd, but his expertise has continued to support architects and restoration specialists, leading to the formation of Brouns Glass in 2026.

Brouns Glass supplies products that combine authentic historic aesthetics with modern insulation performance. As many historic windows have shallow rebates that cannot accommodate standard double glazing, Brouns Glass has developed a slimline double-glazed unit designed specifically to fit these frames. While its thermal performance does not quite match that of thicker contemporary units, it comes close and represents a significant improvement over traditional single-pane historic glazing.
